Tracy Deonn is the author of the Legendborn Cycle. Her first book, Legendborn, isa New York Times best selling book and winner of the Coretta Scott King - John Steptoe for New Talent Author Award.
I’ve been working with Tracy since 2020 to regularly update her author portraits and capture her book events. You can find my work on her website, in press kits, and in the book jackets of Legendborn, Bloodmarked, and Oathbound all over the world.

Amy and Kelvin were recently engaged in the Spring of 2025 and wanted to have a quick engagement shoot to capture their excitement and beautiful ring.
We went to the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh and wandered around the camellias to capture some sweet images.
Congratulations, Amy and Kelvin!
I really enjoy working with the UNC Band! This is the second year in a row I’ve worked with them.
I capture their yearly band group photo and then take senior portraits for those who are graduating and heading into their next adventure.
Lauren recently moved to Durham for a job with Durham City Government. She needed some headshots for her new position. She was an utter pleasure to work with. Welcome to Durham, Lauren!
I met Christine Parks through a previous client who is a ceramist - Julie Berkowitz. Christine and her husband, David, own and manage Camellia Forest Tea Gardens in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Christine is passionate about growing, harvesting, preparing, curing, and brewing her own tea. She is also passionate about helping others learn how to do the same, so she wrote a book with Susan Walcott: Grow Your Own Tea.
Over fifteen of my images are included in this book.
Meg contacted me because she was planning on surprise proposing to her girlfriend, Shannon, and wanted me to capture their moment. They got engaged on the NC Courage Soccer Pitch in front of the NC Courage Team. It was incredibly sweet, and exciting!
Congratulations, Meg and Shannon!
This was an incredibly special project as Taylor was celebrating her Quinceañera! We began with a family and portrait session in Duke Gardens located in Durham, North Carolina. The cherry blossoms were just beginning to bud, it was a truly magical session.
Taylor later celebrated her quinceañera with an incredible party full of dancing, family, friends, and delicious food.
Congratulations to these Jordan High School Graduates! 🎓
This sweet friend group wanted photos together at the Coker Arboretum on UNC's campus. Their senior year began in 2020 - how tough was that? But they persevered and made it through with grace and resilience.
This group brought excellent poses and energy! What really got me was when they cheered each other on as each person had their portrait made. I loved working with these young women.
Willa needed updated headshots for their professional work. We set-up a session at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens and caught some really beautiful images. I adore working with natural light, it really highlights my client and their natural beauty.
Julie Berkowitz was one of my very first clients. We met through our martial arts dojo and she told me she would like some photos to use on her website, for her events, and for some social media. I met her at her studio and watched her get to work. Julie offers all levels of classes, from 4 years of age and up!
Julie is a very talented ceramist and wonderful teacher. I highly recommend taking a class from her if you’re in the Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh area. Check out her website here!
